The badge produced for the "ride that never was". In 1907 the original trek from Peking to Paris took place, won by an Itala. For 1982 a memorial run of this event was planned.
 
One of the people who wanted to participate was then secretary of the Morgan Sports Car Club, Chas Smith. He was preparing his 1965 Morgan 4/4 Series V (now in Finland) for this event. One of the ways to finance it was by issuing a special badge.
 
There exist different varieties, for example:
sky light or dark blue
car light or dark red
green car
 
The badges with dark blue sky are the most common. 
 
Even after over 40 years these badges are in perfect condition.
