NSU was a popular German car brand up to the mid 1970s.
 
They had also produced motorcycles and other machinery during its existence.
The best selling car was the Prinz model and its derivatives, like the 1000 and 1200.
 
Of course, the make got world fame with the NSU RO 80 in 1967 with the Wankel engine. It ceased to exist in the late 1970s. It merged with the Volkswagen/Audi brands.
